JOB TITLE Tutor (PART TIME)
PROGRAM International Foster Care program
SUMMARY The Tutor is responsible for in-home tutoring to unaccompanied refugee minors (14-18 years-old) enrolled in public schools in Fort Worth, Mid-Cities, and Dallas. Includes utilizing, developing and implementing effective curriculum for instruction and providing documentation of tutoring sessions.
JOB DUTIES
- Provide tutoring to eligible unaccompanied refugee teenagers. Focus on areas where child is having difficulty in school.
- Implement curriculum provided by child’s teacher; develop appropriate lessons as needed.
- Prepare and submit required paperwork.
- Interact effectively with children and foster parents from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds.

Necessary Skills/Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field preferred. At least 2 years of college required.
2. Teaching/Tutoring experience required.
3. Experience with refugee populations preferred.
4. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills in English.
5. Candidates who meet all criteria above and are bilingual in a current refugee language will be given priority (Amharic, Chin, Karen, Burmese, Somali and Arabic).
Schedule Requirements:
Work hours will be part time, with most hours being evenings and weekends, between 2-10 hours per week. This position will focus on students in Dallas and Lewisville
