To submit your application for the Spring 2017 Belton Area Chamber of Commerce (BCC) Apprentice Belton Program, complete the subsequent pages of this document in their entirety and return it, along with the additional attachments listed below, to Don Owens in the Career Center.  The deadline for submission is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. This program open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors only.

Your full application will include the following: 

  • Completed Application Form (this document).
  • Applicants have the option to submit an updated resume (not required).
  • In addition, each application must be accompanied by one letter of recommendation.  These letters should be submitted by the person making the recommendation and must be received via e-mail to dowens@umhb.edu on or before October 14, 2016.  Please ask the recommending party to name the file <yourfullname.doc>.
  • Also all applicants will be contacted to schedule an candidate interview appointment.

 Time Commitment

 Selected applicants will be expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Full participation in BCC’s Apprentice Belton Program.
  • Commitment to attend 6 one-hour apprentice sessions with your mentor:
    • Arrive on time and attend all apprentice sessions, to be coordinated with your mentor.
    • Attend all program sessions coordinated by BCC, including the introduction day in early January and graduation ceremony scheduled for early April, 2017.

Letter of Recommendation

Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation in support of their applications. This letter should be submitted in word format via email to dowens@umhb.edu and must be sent from the email account of the person making the recommendation (listed below). Letters must be received to the dowens@umhb.edu e-mail address on or before October 16, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

If selected…
• I will fully participate in the Apprentice Belton Program
• I will attend the six apprentice sessions with my mentor
• I will attend the graduation ceremony the end of April
• I will arrive on time for each program and will be in attendance for its entirety

The Belton Area Chamber of Commerce and mentors for the Apprentice Belton Program includes individuals of many faith traditions. The BCC makes every effort to schedule program activities at times that do not conflict with religious observances; however, this is not possible in every instance. If you have concerns about your ability to commit the time required during the months of January 2016 thru April 2016, please contact the BCC at programs@beltonchamber.com.
