Career Services for Alumni

Career Tips

Career Services of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is available  and desires to be a part of our graduates networking team for life. The role  your CRU Career Center plays includes serving as a partner in an array of career related programs as our alumni advance their career goals and ambitions. We are proud of each of you and the outstanding successes you have accomplished since your UMHB years. Our efforts are provided by various resources that may be linked by the world wide web, campus career activities, Career Connection Conference Calls, and regional networking groups. These range from resume reviews & referrals, career coaching for career changes, relocations, market conditions, job outlooks, professional growth and document reviews. In addition, we call on the successes of our graduates to serve as Mentors to our current students in their career discovery. We request our graduates invite their employers to recruit additional great Cru talent such as yourself. Note the photo of 8 UMHB graduates representing and recruiting for their companies at a recent Business Job Fair.

Resume Referral Service & Interview Refreshers

Recruiters contact Career Services with job descriptions of positions that are currently available in their companies or organizations.  When these groups request resumes, we search our Crusader Career registration banks.  Registered resumes of alumni who match up with position qualifications are forwarded to requesting groups.  Your registration information and current resumes should be completed and mailed to University Career Services.  E-mailing your resume is preferred for best electronic submission.

Your Career Services also offers complimentary resume review and interview tips for the new marketplace.  Simply contact us about reviewing your resume, dates of interview workshops, and mock programs.

Alumni--Major Mentors--Internships

Don't we wish we had someone in our field prior to graduation to provide us with a bird's eye view of the world of work?  We invite all alumni to consider enrolling as a Major Mentor.  This program provides invaludable insight and encouragement to a current student with the same major as their mentor.  Several tools suggested in forming this program include a one-time conference call discussing major's industry and suggestions of education, networking, and opportunities.

In addition, if your company offers internships or has a college recruiting program that we may contact to consider our student and our campus as a recruiting site for our job fairs, let us know.

Assessments/Resources

Your Center provides on line assessment tools and a resource program from the Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Biggs Interest Indicator, and Monstertrak that are available upon request.

Job Postings

New job postings for companies, organizations, school districts, healthcare groups and agencies are received daily by e-mails, faxes, or mail.  Daily job order entries are made and efforts to keep them as current as possible is our goal. View Postings on our "Find a Job" section by degree plan or field.

Monstertrak.com

Your university career services center has partnered with Monstertrak.com (a Monster.com company), making available another source for job postings and career related information.  Check out Monstertrak.com on our resources page by just clicking the monster button.  Go to the Jobs & Interns button, and then find UMHB in the listing of 1400 partner schools.  Password:  Crusaders
